While most of the community was still asleep, Bert Corona Charter High School (BCCHS) leadership students were already hitting the pavement at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Their early start was essential to kicking off the 58th Annual Pacoima Holiday Parade, a cherished local tradition.
Dedication in Motion
The morning began with students meticulously marking the streets to ensure parade participants could line up correctly. By 9:00 a.m., the team was actively supporting a diverse array of participants—including school groups, community organizations, elected officials, car clubs, and equestrian groups—as they launched into the parade route.
A Whimsical Winter Wonderland
This year’s BCCHS float entry was a "Whimsical Winter Wonderland Gingerbread House" featuring a chimney with real smoke. The project was a true labor of love:
- Planning: Students and staff began brainstorming the design as early as the summer.
- Spirit: One month prior, the BCCHS Cheer team began choreographing a custom routine to energize the crowd.
- Construction: Following Thanksgiving break, the team gathered resources to bring the gingerbread house to life.
On parade day, students proudly marched behind the float and the cheer team, handing out candy canes to children along the route. Community members of all ages gathered to take pictures in front of the unique display.
A Legacy of Service
BCCHS remains committed to developing students into active citizens. Having participated in the Pacoima Holiday Parade for the past 10 years, the school is proud to provide students with meaningful opportunities to be active citizens and serve their community.
The President of Pacoima Chamber of Commerce, Raul Bocanegra said, "The 58th Annual Pacoima Christmas Parade was made even more special thanks to the incredible volunteer spirit of students from Bert Corona Charter High School. Their energy, professionalism, and willingness to serve helped keep the parade running smoothly and brought smiles to families throughout the community. We are grateful for their dedication and proud to see young leaders stepping up to support Pacoima’s cherished holiday tradition."
A special thank you goes to Greenworks Solutions for their generous donation of a truck and trailer, which made the BCCHS float possible.
