Since the weekend, there has been a deluge of FALSE school threats posted to social media in Northern California and the Los Angeles area. Some of the threats in Northern California have led to arrests, but no arrests have been made in Los Angeles.
All threats to Los Angeles Schools were deemed unsubstantiated, including the threat to Maclay Middle School. Although the threats were unsubstantiated, the BCCHS administration chose to implement our safety plan to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families while at school. Some of the steps that were taken today include:
- Regular communication with school police.
- Heightened supervision before, during, and after school.
- Isolated the entrance and exit to campus through the video-monitored and secure pedestrian gate.
- Kept students away from the street and gates at all times
The safety of our students, staff, and community will always be our top priority. Although the threats have been determined to be NOT credible, the feelings of our students, staff, and families are genuine. As a result, BCCHS will continue to maintain heightened supervision before, during, and after school and only use the secure pedestrian gate for entrance and exit for the rest of the week.
BCCHS Administration will be having our Cafe con Los Directores tomorrow at 9 am and 6 pm and able to answer any questions that families may have.

Han sido unos días difíciles para las escuelas de California. Desde el fin de semana, ha habido una gran cantidad de FALSAS amenazas escolares publicadas en las redes sociales en el norte de California y el área de Los Ángeles. Algunas de las amenazas en el norte de California han dado lugar a arrestos, pero no se han realizado arrestos en Los Ángeles.
Todas las amenazas a las escuelas de Los Ángeles se consideraron infundadas, incluida la amenaza a la escuela secundaria Maclay. Aunque las amenazas no tenían fundamento, la administración de BCCHS decidió implementar nuestro plan de seguridad para garantizar la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes, personal y familias mientras están en la plantel. La seguridad de nuestros estudiantes, personal y comunidad siempre será nuestra principal prioridad. Aunque se ha determinado que las amenazas NO son creíbles, los sentimientos de nuestros estudiantes, personal y familias son genuinos. Como resultado, BCCHS continuará manteniendo una mayor supervisión antes, durante y después de la escuela y solo usará la puerta de seguridad para peatones para entrar y salir durante el resto de la semana.
